WP Auctions: Behind The Scenes

For those that signed up for the beta test of our WP Auctions plugin will be happy to know that the plugin has been emailed to you. If you would like to know more about the plugin and have a look at a demo you can visit the Auction Blog to do so.

There is a lot of stuff about the plugin that can't be all talked about in one post. So I'll stick to the backend of the plugin for this post.

Options, Manage, Add and Style

Here's a brief overview of most of the backend features.

• The plugin allows you give a title to your blogs auction centre. You can call it "Joe's Auctions" or anything else more creative than that.
• You can also choose to be notified of all bids placed on your auctions by email. This can get annoying if you have a lot of auctions going on, but we just thought it would be a nice feature to have.
• Once someones wins an auction they get an email with your PayPal email, which you need to specify in the "Options" tab. After payment is completed simply ship or transfer whatever you had up for sale.
• You have full control over managing auctions. From Ending, Editing, Deleting and Re-listing closed auctions.
• The plugin allows you to delete fraudulent bids. Simply click on "Cancel Last Bid" and the last bid in the array is deleted.
• Adding auctions is a breeze. You can either specify image URL's or upload it and have them hosted on ImageShack.
• Once our Auction Style store is open bloggers will be able to buy new styles for their auction widget.

This version release is v 0.1. The initial beta testers who signed up should have gotten an email with the plugin by now. If you would like to also receive a beta test invite simply leave a comment on the demo blog.
