A lot of people think to themselves - Why Keep a Blog? It's quite simple really. Because you can.
I've never been tagged before and generally stuff that I do on the internet nowadays takes too much of my time for me to go around doing these things. I guess that's what happens why you start getting too busy that you don't have time to write a blog post anymore. When the only thing I'm doing is blogging? 0_o {with a little bit of freelancing}
So when Beth of a A Frog To Kiss tagged me I said Ah! Why not, but just this once. By the way go and check out her blog it's a fun read.
Here are my 5 reasons why I blog
- I got tired of freelancing for jobs and hunting down my next gig.
- I live in a foreign country where the workforce doesn't speak English, so I can't get a normal job. Why am I here? Well it began in 1996...
- I don't want a normal job, I prefer to be my own boss.
- I get a lot of ideas, and a cubicle or an office would just be a wrong place to be when I scream, Eureka!
- I believe in destiny and know that what I'm doing will take me on the way to self dependency.

Though I don’t completely make my living with blogs, I also run a few websites that bring in some dollars here and there.

If I may add to this… I also think keeping a professional blog about topics you’re passionate about (lets say technology) helps define you as an expert in that field.
When a potential employer Googles your name, and they will, if they come across your blog which in which you have well spoken thoughts, comments and ideas, it helps promote you without you have to do any extra work.
Blogs are great marketing tools, a lot of fun, and really a fantastic way for the general consumer to break into a medium that used to be tightly controlled. What’s not to love?
