Web (2) has gone green! We all knew that one of the official colors of Web (2) websites was lime green just here it's a bit on the leafy green side.
TreeNation is a humanitarian site that aims to plant 8 Million trees in the shape of a heart in Africa to fight poverty and climate changes. The trees will be planted in the Niger one of the countries in Africa that is feeling most of the effects of desertification and poorest in Africa.
There are 4 types of trees you can buy
- Acacia Senegal for € 10
- Ronier for € 21
- Acacia Sieberiana for € 24
- Baobab for € 75
The really cool part is that you can pick where you want to plant your tree virtually and it will be planted in that same spot. Their experts will then nurture the tree and take care of it using only natural nutrients.
The benefits of such a cause are many.
- First of all I can assume that there is not much air pollution in that specific location but 8 Million Trees can provide a hell of a lot of Oxygen for the world as a whole.
- It creates jobs in the local villages there.
- You will be part of something that can be visible from space!
- When you go for that safari you can plan a trip to go see your tree
- The environment wins, we can't live without it.
So if you're up to it go ahead and buy a tree it helps everybody. I look forward to buying mine soon.
There is a whole community being built around the effort and you can see other people's trees, create your own tree blog, upload photos, talk about your uber cool eco-habits and more other cool stuff.
I just don't know why it says beta? I mean you're planting trees not fixing app bugs.
