The Prada Phone

LG and Italian fashion power house Prada have teamed up to give us the world's first completely touch screen mobile phone.

The PRADA Phone by LG (KE850) is a real breakthrough in the industry, as it is a unique, sophisticated and elegant mobile phone with the first complete advanced touch interface.

Prada is well known for the attention to detail and simplicity. Some people may try and compare this to the iPhone from Apple but I see it being in a class all its own. Plus it won't be available in the USA immediately but in european countries first like UK, France, Germany and Italy followed by Asia. So by the time the iPhone makes its way to Europe and Asia Prada will have already made the technology familiar with the people and the iPhone may actually end up looking as the second choice. Plus expect to see other companies bring their own versions of touch screen communications devices into the market.

PRADA’s involvement in their phone thouhg extends beyond exterior aesthetics to the key elements of the user experience such as the advanced touch interface, ring tones, pre-loaded content, mobile phone accessories and the exclusive leather case, inspired by the classic Italian craftsmen tradition.

Glowing icons on the face of the phone disappear when not in use to reveal a pure, un-adulterated black exterior. The phone is ultra thin (just 12 mm), nonetheless it hosts an array of additional multimedia functions, including an MP3 player and a music multitasking function for messaging. It also boasts an external memory slot, allowing the user to increase memory capacity for images, music and film clips.

The price is expected to be around 600 Euros ($780 approx.) and also comes with a 2 megapixel camera, a video player and document viewer capacity.
