The other day I ordered pizza over here for my family and I told the pizza guy I'd be paying with my credit card. He said OK and hung up before I gave the number. I thought maybe they're going to use the pen emboss technique.
The pizza guy shows up, he gives me my pizza's and I give him my credit card. He then swipes out this machine he was carrying and just swipes my card. I'm like, eh? A few seconds later the credit card slip gets printed out and I sign it and say bye bye to the pizza dude. Apparently more and more companies are now using wireless credit card services to charge customers if they have a mobile business {like pizza delivery} or in other instances if they are holding a conference/convention somewhere and want to accept credit card payments.
The company, AirCharge.com, allows the merchant to get real time authorizations with their wireless credit card services. A variety of options are offered to suit different business needs. You can even accept checks with their AirCheckz product.
So if you have a brick and mortar business and want to be able to accept payments virtually anywhere have a look at AirCharge.com.

That’s pretty slick; I haven’t heard of these being used before. I’d be a little wary of handing the pizza guy my credit card though.
I have a wireless terminal, but it is very clunky and a pain to carry around sometimes. I just leave it in my car, and if someone wants to charge something I go back to get it. I would like something I could wear on my belt or something. That would be really cool.
I looked at this website and it seems like all of their terminals use a cell phone. Mine doesn’t have that requirement. Also I remember one of the people at the Hawks basketball game having one of these terminals that was on their belt and it was so cool, I wanted one. Ya’ll ever see one of these?
The schwans delivery person has been using this at our house for a few years now. He carried the swipe machine and the printer on his belt. I thought I was the uber geek with the Q on my belt and usb drive around my neck.
I asked him about security on it and he says it stores locally and he uploads at the office.
Cool device.
