Some time back I had an article on writing better headlines for your blog posts to be more visible in search engines by changing the Post Slug before publishing in WordPress. I did try it for a few articles here and there , but more or less stopped right away. I've recently started doing it again and I've noticed an increase in search engine visits.
Though it is still too early to make an entire case study, I think this maybe a good thing after all. Currently search volume for blog related content is down, due to the holidays. But when it does pick up again I'll probably see an increase in visitors.
Do you use this technique? Or are you just happy with the default slugging that WordPress does for you?

Thanks for the insight on this post. I’ve been wondering about the slugs and whether they make a difference. I’ll give your techniques a try.
Where can I find this plugin?
Karen, It’s not a plugin. You need to manually change your post slug to whatever you want, when you write your post out in WordPress.
