New Theme Being Coded

I'm finally happy with the way my theme has turned out and am now in the process of getting it coded. Took me like a month to get it done, but hey you can't rush good things. Just in case you're reading this in a RSS reader, I haven't gone "live" with the theme yet.

The new theme is going to carry this blog over into the dominion of being just a blog, to a destination. After all, the domain name needs to mean something right? Like "Everybody Go To get a....", "Everybody Go To look for a...." stuff like that. I'm quite excited about it. Naturally I expect some people to have critics about it, which is fine because I welcome all sorts of criticism.

I think it should take me another day or so to get the coding done to perfection. Then at least another day or so to tweak, bug test etc...plus set up the other stuff which will transform this blog into a destination site.

Naturally some of the new features are geared towards helping monetize this blog further. I'm doing away with text links, and instead will just concentrate on banner ads. I never liked the big ugly 728x90 versions splashed on top before you even see the header, so I'm going to be using a prominent 468x60 banner. It will show up above all the posts, without looking too intrusive. I think it's a great spot to be in to advertise yourself to the tens of thousands of visitors I get.

Well, I could go on forever but it's best to just launch the new theme when I'm ready with it. Till then, hang tight.
