Making a quick buck on the web is so simple that the next door teenager can do it. But the question is will you do it? I always maintain that making money online is not easy in contrast to what others say to you about it. It takes attitude to make money online.
Here I give you 8 steps to kickstart a niche blog and make money off of it.
- Go to Blogspot {if you feel entrepreneurial register a domain} and create a new blog about a niche you know something or anything about. You do not have to be passionate about the niche, just knowing a bit about it can go a far way on the net. Don't try to scam people, so be wise when getting into it.
- Choose a decent template, put your Adsense code in and you could potentially start earning from Day 1. This works best for niche sites over flagship blogs.
- Concentrate 60 minutes a day on the blog, write at least 2 "good posts". Note the quotes.
- After you do this for a week, you have 12-14 "good posts". Note the quotes again. Now spend time on social media sites and submitting your content to them, if you want faster results, get seed votes from sites like Stumblecult or Piqqus.com.
- Visit DigitalPoint forums section for directory announcements and submit to 2 directories a day. A job of say, 5 minutes a day? Clue: Slow backlinks to your site can avoid a sandbox/penalty death to your blog.
- While at DigitalPoint or some other forums, do yourself a favor and participate in the threads there. Clue: Will help in increasing your reputation and hence more buyers when you decide to sell your blog.
- Now you should have some traffic from referrals, organic and direct sources to make you money on Adsense or some other affiliate programs. Invest what you make from your blog in the first 6 months back into the blog.
- Subscribe to Hyder's feeds so that, I TheAnand can make myself heard to you guys through some random guest posts.
So, there you have it eight, seven honest steps to make money blogging online for free, starting from scratch. Some people, in fact a lot of people, do this every day for a living. They make a pretty good living too. Naturally there's more to it, but in a nutshell the above process can be repeated over and over again, depending on the amount of energy and creativity you have.
Some might say that the above steps are downright full of scam, for that - read point 1 again. Remember, that this is a step by step process where you could potentially find a gold mine niche and could literally make a lot of money overnight. It happens everyday to people all over the net, you just never hear about them because you're too busy clicking on their ads

You make a few interesting points in your article which I can relate to. I think whats a vital step here is to concentrate on building your on-line reputation to the point that you start marketing yourself. There are, I feel, lots of ways to achieve this and make money (if thats all you want) available to use, after all the web is limitless with huge amounts of possibilities for us. Id be interested in hearing thoughts from people about what other technologies are out there on the web that aid in this approach to marketing ones self on a business.
You mention in your article…”happens everyday to people all over the net, you just never hear about them” …do you know a list of people that this has happened to… people who “blog for a living”!?
Best regards,
Peter
Peter, that line you quoted above was inserted by me in editing the post. So it’s best I answer it.
If you are asking me to name individuals, that’s out of the question. But let me just say that not every niche you get into will be profitable, some will fail miserably, some will do OK, some will sky rocket. These are all variables that are interconnected with the world around us and other events that give prominence to some niches. Seasons, trends, news etc…are all elements which if you are fast and smart enough to act on could quite literally make you “a quick buck” x 1000 and probably more.
There are no limits, just people who limit themselves.
Yes, Peter, I think its only a matter of research. Still, chances that 2/10 sites you make will be a super hit with revenue. Makes up for the rest of the effort.
