With the internet a global village you can buy a house for your website anywhere in the world, I'm talking about hosting of course. I used to live in the U.S and was pretty comfortable with U.S based domain and hosting services. But now that I live in Europe I'm looking to services provided by companies based anywhere in the world because the convenience of the internet allows you to host your website anywhere you like.
For instance Down Under, that's Australia for those not familiar, WebCity provides cheap web hosting with prices starting at $4.95 in Australian Dollars, approx. $3.25 U.S. The other thing they are making news for is Greenfleet, they are sponsoring planting of trees through that program to offset the carbon emissions that they make as a company. Approx. 60 tonnes of CO2 are let out annually and they hope to equalize their emissions with the planting of equivalent trees needed to balance the emissions. Crikey! That's a lot of emissions, {r.i.p Steve Irwin }.
A great step for any company. They also offer web design services, search engine optimization services among many more offers. Take a look, the outback looks appealing from up here, gday mate.
Tip: If you are registering a different country TLD it's always advisable to do so from a provider in that country, so for a .com.au webcity might be an answer for you.

That is a wonderful marketing strategy! I hear Australia has the largest energy use per capita. I would gladly pay a few dollars extra every year to host with them over another host knowing I’m helping the environment a little! (if I were Australian)
