Host Arcadia – New Hosting Service on The Block

I read somewhere that if you work as a freelance web designer a good way to make some extra passive income is to refer your clients to a domain/hosting provider or have one set up yourself. Of course if you plan on setting up one for yourself it's more or less a full time job in itself. I am writing this sponsored review* because Host Arcadia is a hosting company that is set up by web designers, as I am one, and small business owners.

A good host is the backbone of your online business. I've had trouble in the past with my hosting provider, due to a front page digg story, and even though my bandwidth usage only went up by a notch due to it my server still went down - which was not very cool. I don't know how the servers of Host Arcadia would perform under the same kind of pressure, but let's hope they perform.

The company, as I stated earlier, is set up by people who already have a working track record online. They are not resellers though, they own and operate their servers. Which makes it good to know that when you call or email support they probably know what's happening rather than,"Our engineers are looking into the matter". To me if you are running your own hosting company you better tell it like it is, or don't bother.

Hosting Plans

Their hosting plans names made me smile. From the basic being called Oasis to the top tier plan being called Zion - you feel like you're dealing with the Matrix Mainframe. Except for the Oasis plan all other hosting plans can be bought on a monthly basis and they come with many features, which include -

• cPanel+Fantastico
• Unlimited email accounts
• Unlimited subdomains
• mySQL and PHP
• and more...

They are also open to hearing suggestions from their customers as to what they would like in a hosting plan. So if you sign up and request a feature, you might just get it. You can make your payments via paypal. You can also register domain names through them.

Resellers and Affiliates

They also offer a reseller hosting account for those wishing to provide these services to their clients or friends, family or business associates. Or you can promote them with their hosting affiliate program and you get 10% for each sale, along with a one time $5.00 sign up bonus. Payments by check or paypal.

They seem to have some forums going on as well, but at time of writing they were down.
