You've probably heard of Google Buzz already and are probably really loving it or really hating it. I'm on the latter camp, that's why it did not take me more than 1 day to realize I did not want my email inbox to turn into a social network.
Google admitted they made a pretty ass move of making everyone part of the network and you a part of everyone elses network by default! But what really sealed the deal for me in turning Buzz off was the constant notifications number beside my otherwise clear (OK, not so much) inbox. Add that to the fact that any service like this instantly becomes a "free traffic" outlet for everyone on your list. I don't mind tweeting links out, or "liking" something but this is just a bit too...direct!

Google Buzz
Yeah, no thanks. I like my email nice and quiet. I'll visit the local hangout called twitter when I feel like socializing. Email is business and personal, the last thing I want it becoming is a social network.

I’m with you. I had google.buzz for a day or so, then realised my gmail was looking far too busy. Buzz has gone the same way Wave did …. down the gurgler.
