Erain has announced a software solution that will let you create slideshows with motion graphics, professional design and artistics creativity and it is called StandOut. GOODBYE POWERPOINT!
Though it is mostly geared towards the Vista operating system, but it can also run on WinXP running .NET 3.0 -
We're not just talking about the new Aero look and feel, but Vista itself has superior rendering capabilities due to its new WDDM (Windows Display Driver Model) to leverage the power within the video graphics cards.
Vista Enabled Feature Exploitation
They are exploiting the sidebar within Vista and have developed a mini-Flypaper Gadget that would be in the sidebar and as you are preparing for your presentation you simply drag and drop content there to archive it. So when you are ready to make all the content you may have been saving for days, or even weeks, it is there when you are ready to go.
Being a user of the Swift 3D software, I think this will be a huge leap forward for them deeper into a more mainstream userbase that probably didn't need or use Swift 3D before.
Standout will make use of the Index Search which is part of the common dialog box and also the Windows Presentation Foundation which makes for improved user experience and enables users to deliver high-impact, rich engaging presentations.
Coming in two versions, one known as the Designer Edition and the other as the Presenter Edition. Each having their own set of benefits for the end user.
Also with Presentation templates comes something called StandOut Design Kits, which are built by professional designers using Microsoft Expression Blend and Electric Rain StandOut Designer Edition are built around design themes, visual metaphors, or branding of the company or product. Design Kits are made up of many different layouts to hold and deliver all the types of presenters content (text, graphics, charts, videos, audio, etc.).
Due for release in Q2-Q3 the price is not disclosed yet and will be sold through their website. Beta testers are invited.
