A new player is on the horizon to conquer the playing field for social bookmarking prominence. Crispy Blog Posts is a social bookmarking site strictly for blogs, where users submit and rate blog posts from around the web.
A one man project it is already taking off with daily increasing traffic. Here's how it works.
You simply click on a "channel" that is shown on the front page, upon entering that channel you are shown what is popular in the specific channel and you can also view what is in the pool { upcoming }. You can vote without registering with either a crispy vote or a soggy vote and voila that's it. The blog post would then either get promoted and go into the popular section or stay where it is in oblivion. I'm guessing after a couple of days as the story gets soggy people would vote it soggy so it falls off the radar, but there isn't any clear explanation of that.
The site itself looks appealing and loads pretty fast. I think it would probably come into a user's interest one day to have an account where all his crispy votes would be stored for viewing later on. Plus I would like to see more functionality to the site in terms of organizing the channels on the front page differently. Right now it isn't too cluttered but then it might just end up staying that way or get more haphazardly organized with the addition of more channels. Plus it is openly susceptible to dubious channels showing up and spoiling the experience for other people.
For a beta launch it looks like it has potential, monetized by PPC Ads so far, I can probably see this concept take off. Provided there is some restructuring of the way channels are created and displayed along with the ability to store your votes in an account, which could be optional. They also have a widget { internal link } which you can place on your blog which tracks all your submitted content. It looks like this.

I’m just checking it now, looks interesting, but when I searched for a channel on ‘business’ there wasn’t one! Holy moly it must be very hot off the press to be missing that channel. Well i shall add it – and then try to dominate it
