Creating a sustainable blogging culture

The web started as a means to show one countries supremacy over the other when the U.S and Soviet Russia were trying to outdo each other like a bunch of kids - it's a good thing they had that mentality otherwise we would not have what was then laid as the foundation for the Internet.

Since then the web as we know it today has just surpassed everyone's dream of being always connected to each other via text, video and now VOIP. Today literally millions of people get on the internet everyday to write a blog post, share a video, go shopping, read my blog :) and other kinds of cool stuff.

Blogging has truly become the force with which basically anybody can now start an online journal on their thoughts, what they did, what they think about, how they do stuff etc...It is no longer an area reserved strictly for people who know how to build a website now even if you don't know what HTML or have never seen a line of code before in your life you can still get your own blog and be on your way.

There are literally hundreds of thousands that make a daily living off their ideas, their methods for business, their jokes and anything else you can think off. But is it sustainable?

Sustaining a blogging culture depends on the community as a whole. When websites were first created you would see nothing but pop up after pop up after pop up I'm sure people asked themselves who would want to visit websites on the internet as all they saw were annoying popup's. Then came email and the spam that followed with it but people still kept on using it, now with blogs you get your content stolen or linked back from Made For Adsense type of blogs not to mention the thousands of spammy comments that get caught by filters.

So far everything on the internet has shown resilience to bad attempts at trying too quickly to get your 15 minutes of fame. The trick to getting your 15 minutes of fame is to work before you get it and after you hit 15:01 to keep the rhythm flowing.

A blogging culture can only be maintained when the entire ecosystem made up of bloggers sets standards for themselves. If you get a paid opportunity to write a post, tell everybody that you are getting paid. Maybe that's why movies get pirated so much because producers don't tell the public that xyz company paid us $100,000 to place their logos all over the office and use their name.

Product placement needs to be transparent everywhere. A blogger writes because he/she is an individual and they can now finally get a chance to say what they want, how they want and to whomever they want. It is an open invitation to come inside my head and see what I'm made of and what you can learn from me - BECAUSE I would like to learn about you as well.

A sustainable blogging culture can be attained through an exchange of open dialog and learning from one another.

I don't see a bubble in sight anywhere for this area of the web.
