Another WordPress Theme Job Completed

I've just finished another WordPress Theme job for a blog. This time it was a political blog so there really wasn't much to do in terms of ground-breaking design. Instead I concentrated on usability, readability and simplicity using the same color theme and logo, with a touch of design of course.

The blog in question is BiPolarNation.com run by Dan Kenitz. Here is a snapshot of what it looked like before

and this is what it looks like now -

I have to say that this is also the first time that I've actually ported a template over into a wordpress theme. There still might be a few kinks here and there which some people with a very detailed eye might notice, but overall I think it looks great for the concept it was made for.

I hope to better my wordpress coding skills as I go along and port more designs. My previous wordpress blog design was done for dblogged.com and the first one was done for john chow {he hasn't used it though}. John said he might release it to the wp community, but hasn't yet.

I will be designing some premium templates and releasing them sometime in the near future. Though I will limit the amount of downloads and to whom I release the template to. Since they will be designed with a specific theme in mind I want them to be put to good use for good blogs.

If you are looking for a new wordpress theme do get in touch with me. My prices are moderate.

  1. Nice design, baseed on the screenshots I think its a major upgrade. The contrast in column color and content is a feature I think is essential for a blog.

Visiting the site however, the template is a bit messy. My screen Res is 1024×768 and use IE6. The right column and content is at the very bottom under the end lof the left column.

I did a few designs recently having problems with similar alignment issues. The compatibility for IE6, IE7, and firefox was my issue and needed a bit of tweaking.

Site looks perfect in firefox btw, good stuff.

Yeah I didn’t get a chance to look at it in IE 6 mainly because I don’t have it. It does show fine in IE 7 and FF though.

Like I said it was the first time porting a template to a wp theme so there might be a few kinks.

  3. My issues involved the position of elements with defined 100% width with float elements.

i definitely like the new look better than the old one. good job on it.

Oh yeah. You hit it on the mark for sure. The balance in color, graphics, and symbolism is good. Did you make the logo? I’m impressed. Very tight.

  1. [...] I spotted a theme change for the better at everybody go to. The new version he did for someone looks a lot snazzier. I think I’ll stop by to see Ali when I get the desire to change my theme into something unique. It won’t be soon, but now that I have his link, I’ll know where to go when the time comes. [...]
