In my new series of 5 ways, I bring to your 5 ways to write good content to increase traffic. Now I'm not Shakespeare so I'm not writing a play, I'm not Michael Crichton so I'm not going to write a novel and I'm not a Journalist so I'm not going to go into the war zone...I'm just a guy blogging.
If you write a blog just to keep a journal then fine, but if you blog to make a difference to your pocket money then read along.
Here they are -
1. People read on the internet - Don't write about what you think people will want to hear from you, this isn't a living room it's the internet! People don't listen here they read. Write about what people are really interested in, something that you would read yourself. The average person has a short attention time span on the internet something like 15 - 30 seconds.............what?
2. Think keywords - There are these things called search engines and people use them quite a lot to find stuff. If you write articles with a few keywords in the back of your head your content will be picked up by these search engines and people will eventually come to your blog through these keywords you thought of. You can insert keywords into your content and bold them like this , how to write good content.
3. Research - If you are writing about things that are more of an authoritative nature than make sure you get your research straight otherwise your readers will think you shouldn't be blogging. If you need facts dig for them, search them out, quote somebody else and link to them, that's usually nice. Just make sure you get it right.
4. Follow trends - There are many many blogs out there that just scour other blogs to pick up their content and copy paste it. Don't do that! Get your own point of view and write it down, nobody will respect you for your writing then and never take you seriously.
5. Be original - Think of something, anything just be original and that doesn't mean talking about your daily life, nobody cares (see no.1). Carry a small notepad with you when you go out as I've had inspiration usually strike me when I'm doing absolutely nothing but taking a walk.
Bonus - Talk to yourself. You'd be amazed at the things you come up with.

All very helpful tips! And nobody wants to read gibberish and be bored out of their mind when reading a blog!
I completely agree with point 4. I dislike when information is practically cut-and-pasted on blogs. I go to blogs for opinions, not for the six oclock news.
Good points!
