What I Learned From Creating My Own Products

It always takes a lot longer than anticipated, you will probably fall sick, lose weight, get cramps {which part depends on what you are creating} and you will almost always want to stop right before the going gets good.

That’s it in a nutshell.

But there is more to it than what’s above, there is also the fact that you will almost never be able to do it by yourself. Steve Jobs probably said it best, “Surround yourself with smart, passionate people”.

There is also the fact that finding smart, passionate people is very hard to do. In fact it’s harder than setting up a company itself. When I started Weborithm there was just me, myself and I. We worked well together and the work load was sufficient so we carried along. Then we started to get these brilliant ideas that somehow were just bigger than our skillset. So we started looking around, luckily we happened to run into one very talented and extremely friendly guy called Owen and the rest as they say is history.

Well, we haven’t made history yet - but we’re getting there.

Creating something by yourself is fun, but creating it with someone else is even better.

There is actually three other people involved with me {my wife and two kids} that have helped tremendously as well so I’ve never been alone during any of my adventures, and mis-adventures.

So if you ever set out to create or start something new make sure to find at least one person whom you can rely on and ask for assistance, a chat, a joke or just someone to ask how you are doing. That’s the best advice I can give you so far as a budding online entrepreneur.
