The geographic difference between most of the worlds poor and better off is either just a street, a dividing wall or sometimes it’s right outside the “better off” persons door.
If everyone, that’s YOU, could do just ONE thing to help ONE poor person it would make a world of difference. I’m not asking you to support a whole village, give monthly donations {though that’s not a bad idea} or keep giving to charities without knowing what’s exactly going to happen to your money. No, instead just help ONE poor person.
How?
Here’s a few simple things you could do -
- Donate your bicycle, bike or an old car to a needy person or family - Mobility helps poor people get jobs. If you live in a city with a good public transport system buy a transit pass for one person help get to an interview for a job.
- Donate your old electronics - We throw away so much electrical equipment today it’s not even funny. Donate your TV, old computer, radios, phones etc… to a local shelter or community center where disadvantaged people meet. They’ll use it to get better informed. They’ll figure out for themselves that Knowledge is Power.
- Provide knowledge - A lot of the worlds poor can read, they just don’t have any books. Get it?
- Talk to a poor person - Sometimes they need someone to talk too, just like you and me.
