Place this in the “Stupid” category.
Apparently, Veoh, has blocked a whole host of countries from accessing their site. Mine included, which means when I visit the site I get this slapped in my face.

Their lame excuse -
“Unfortunately Veoh has ended service in your countries due to a low concentration of users. Veoh is maintaining service in countries when we have the highest concentration of viewers. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for using Veoh.”
Which when translated means -
We think you never clicked on any ads, or bought anything from our advertisers, and therefore are probably not worth anything to us. So we don’t want you using up our bandwidth. Now, get lost.
Looking at this, with a cool mind, I can only guess that this was put into place via pressure from their advertisers. But in todays world, where pretty much everything is available to anyone around the world, I don’t see how they couldn’t have just partnered with an international company to monetize overseas traffic. If that’s what the whole deal was about.
Blocking eyeballs is not the answer. I can only imagine the ire from international users who had uploaded their original content only to find that they cannot even access their own videos anymore. Widgetbucks also did a similar step sometime back with their international users.
You can read more on this post and see a full list of blocked countries.

It’s not blocked in India but I am not a regular user of it too.
But whatsoever, they are not doing a good thing by blocking their site in countries with low concentration of users. This is really unethical.
Try using an anonymizer software if you really use the site often.
