I’ve had my computer for over a year now and have not had any major issues with it. Well…except for this buzzing sound which started happening around 4 - 6 months in whenever I fired up software, like Dreamweaver, to get my projects going.
I had no idea what it was, I opened up the side panel and saw a bunch of dust so I vacuumed it away and thought it would be OK. I was wrong. It just would not go away, so I ended up taking it to the repair shop. They said it was just a bunch of dust accumulated in the fan and they also said it was a good thing I brought it in because it could have resulted in overheating and a potential fire could have erupted. Geez, that was a relief.
So now I clean my system out once every few months. But there was a time when my first laptop did die on me for no apparent reason and it took a long time to get me started back again. That time though I did employ the use of a professional computer technician. So I do appreciate the services that these people provide.
Which brings me to why I’m writing this post, FastTeks.com is a Computer Repair service that offers Business and Residential repair services.
Some of their services include -
- Virus, Worm, Spyware Removal
- Wireless Networking
- Data Backup and Recovery
- Troubleshoot and Repair
- Shared Internet Office Solutions
I’ve read many horror stories from services offered by many top retail establishments that sometimes it’s not a bad idea to have another service handy.
They serve over a 150 cities in the U.S or Canada so odds are you are in one of them.

Hyder, can you list some of the “150″ locations? I’m in NYC, and when I put in my ZIP code on their site, i just get the generic “leave your contact information and we’ll contact you.” They’re associated with CompUSA, but they just went under, so they may have lost all their retail outlets.
