The Rise And Fall Of Online Empires
If you’re planning on building an online empire you need to start small and most importantly have a plan. No brainer right? Well it’s not as simple as it sounds and it’s not as easy as it looks.
I’d like to tell you a story about how a guy, a guy who moved to a foreign country, a country where he did not know the local language {that itself is a long story} and the only thing he could literally do was work online.
This guy started by building one affiliate website so that he could make some income on the side. He had zero knowledge of SEO and affiliate marketing but did know how to put websites together with some basic HTML. CSS was still unfamiliar ground, so he used tables {he’s since become a CSS addict} to make his first real money making website.
Sales started coming in within a month or so, all of which converted from search engine traffic, as he had no money for online promotion.
In between all this he tried to get a job, the very thought of which seemed outlandish to him, so he let people know about his intentions. Pretty soon he had an interview. Aside from the fact that the boss thought he was too young {pshht}, he didn’t do too well in the interview - for a reason. He realized that he had more passion for building things by himself, without any over bearing eyes! The web allowed him to do just that. Since then he has not looked back.
He continues today to build slowly, but surely in a direction where he knows he’ll be happy with what he’s doing. Carving out his online empire byte by byte.
This guy realized early on that if he wants to build an online empire he’s going to have to be a leader in whatever he does. Not just lead others, but lead himself as well.
As history has shown us, empires rise and fall. He fully expects that his will fall as well, only the foolish think that their kingdoms will last forever. But he will aim to leave a legacy behind, one that he hopes his future generations will always be able to see and remember him by.
Hoping that they will know it was not just about the money, fame, glory or pride. But that it was about leaving them the best thing he could.
A memory.

so do you always talk in third person like that?
Interesting point of view though. Most people probably don’t consider that what they build or create can even become an empire.
