Doing The Do

The year was 2006 and I was experiencing a great deal of slowdown in my momentum. I just couldn’t get myself to do anything productive. My freelance career was doing OK, and I only had one other small affiliate thing going. I started blogging near the end of 2006. The rest, as they say, is history.

I discovered that laying out my thoughts and ideas actually helped me achieve more than I ever could have imagined. I’m quite near to the kind of success I would like to have, but haven’t reached yet, which in effect has given me the drive to explore new avenues that I never would have gotten into had I not penned my thoughts, and gotten support from readers such as you with your comments.

Just Do It, Leave the rest to the Universe

universeimg.jpgPrior to 2006, I always talked about having my own web design company, today I do {and I’m loving it!}. A few years ago I talked about trying to get into online auctions to make money with eBay, today we’ve developed our own auction plugin. A few months ago I thought about quitting on the thought of seeing myself as a “super affiliate” - today I have more drive than ever to see myself in that respect.

A funny thing happened over the weekend - we went out to eat at a nice restaurant. I used my credit card to pay, as I normally do. Things have been kinda slow lately, offline events seem to be affecting online activity, so I was not really prepared for the expense of eating out and the shopping that happened as well. But mentally, me and my wife needed it - to just go out and do something rather than home and kids. So here I was with a few hundred dollars spent in a few hours and not sure how I was going to pay it off.

Guess what happened? A client of mine that basically disappeared for a month mysteriously pays me my balance, well into the hundreds of $’s, and that took care of it all and then some.

I’ve been through many experiences of being uncertain about decisions made, and every time a solution has presented itself for a dilemma. Each time I mentally left it up to the elements around me from the things I did, to the people I know. Everything is co-dependent on each other. The only thing required from your end is to do what first hits your instincts. Most of the time we tend to lay them aside and forget about them.

I make a point to remember these things when they happen to me, it just gives me reinforcement for times when things may not be that rosy, or if I’m at crossroads on a decision. Every time I look back and think over events like these and I repeatedly come to the conclusion that the only thing which made a difference was I DID something.
