Hack Your Weekend Routine: How To Be More Productive Next Week In 3 Steps

Everyone has got a routine, you get up, clean up, eat up and then get to work. Can get a tad tedious once you’ve done it for 4 days in a row. T.G.I.F! right! Monday is only two days away though and you will soon try to shed your weekend routine to get yourself accustomed to your weekday routine again. Which probably won’t reach it’s peak till Wednesday.

So here’s how you try and recreate a typical Wednesday, that’s when productivity usually goes up the most worldwide, on Monday and Tuesday in 3 easy steps. It’s quite simple.

Hack Your Routine To Better Productivity, Faster

  • You tend to sleep late on the weekend, beginning Friday night, instead book ONE weekend night to get to bed just like you would on any weekday night. Go out early, have your fun and then make sure you get back on time to hit your bed at the same time you normally would in order not to get fired for frequent tardiness. The main thing here is to not get home at that time, say 10 P.M, but be in bed at that time. Preferably after some form of exercise and a nice bath. Men can skip the bath if they like :P This will ensure you get the same level of rest you would get on any weekday, at least once.
  • Most of us tend to laze around and either channel surf, or web surf, at home during the normal hours we would be at work. The more active ones are usually out camping, driving, actually surfing or just taking a walk. They’re all relaxing in their own respective ways and everyone deserves that time undoubtedly! BUT, this, I think, is the single reason why Monday’s, and Tuesday’s for that matter, become so hard on most of us. Because we’re so relaxed when it comes. How about taking 2 hours of say a Saturday, or Sunday, and doing something you would normally do at your office, or home office. Arrange some paperwork, do some organizing, get a recap of the business news or anything that may be related to your job. The trick here is to just get enough stimulation to keep your juices flowing in that direction, a key element of many successful people. To those people that hate their jobs, try and spend those 2 hours researching something you would like to do instead. You never know, you may just find a lucky opening somewhere and get your foot in.
  • I have had many a desire to take an afternoon nap while at work, I actually did a few times {our secret}. Then when the weekend came I never did take one. Why not indulge yourself for an afternoon nap, say the night that you’re not going to bed early, and do so. I’ve experienced that 2 hours is usually a good enough time frame to fulfill your week long fantasy. Think of it as a beauty sleep, or getting ready for a night out on the town sleep. Whatever it may be. If you have a family, get them all together and laze around in the family room and just talk or play a board game with no distractions like the TV etc… This way when you get to work on Monday you won’t find yourself dozing off at the water cooler while Betty the gossip girl walks by.

Remember it’s not for how long you perform any of the steps above, as long as you do so for an actionable length of time. When you feel like OK, I’ve had enough of this. That means you have.

No go enjoy your weekend!
