If you remember waaaay back last year in July I had written about FreelanceSwitch and the survey they were holding on their blog. Well the results are finally out and it’s 55 pages long and filled with juicy stats.
I can easily think of a bunch of things to do with information like this. The survey spanned 3700 freelancers from all over the globe. Even though they were mostly from the U.S and Europe the survey still paints a good picture of the overall spectrum of freelancing.
To download a copy visit this post, this is donationware - meaning a donation is required to cover the costs of putting this mammoth together. Even though I got a copy free, since I participated in the survey, I made a donation. So it seems I have one extra copy of the statistics, and I’m going to give it away! Yippee!
All you need to do to be able to win the copy I received, the one I got from making the donation, is to leave a comment on this post. I’ll pick a winner tomorrow.
One thing I did learn is that I’m grossly undercharging. The average hourly rate for a freelance web designer, which is moi, is $46 an hour! I presently charge way below that. Time to look into increasing it, have you seen the price of gas nowadays!
