So…Like This New Blog…

I recently got voted to start this new blog and I’m thinking what the blog should be about? My first thoughts were to start a design blog, but then I thought that was something which can take quite some time and resources to build up. Not that I’m trying to be cheap or lazy, I’m just don’t know if that is something which I can provide enough value for - seeing how many other better blogs there are out there about web/blog design. But then again…that’s what I’m interested in.

I also thought of starting a blog about affiliate marketing, but I’m not a super affiliate so I scratched that. So while I’m deciding on what the blog should be about, here’s some of the steps that I will be implementing for launching this blog -

Since it’s a case study, I’m going to specify a budget of $100 for the entire project.
I will document each and every single step of the launch process and promotion techniques.
I will use only free online tools to help in design, customization and anything else that will be needed for the blog.
I plan on breaking the 100 RSS reader goal in the first week itself!

I was also planning on keeping the blog a secret and not publicize it here at all, which I think I probably will do. It will keep things interesting, plus fair as well. Since it would not be if I kept publicizing it here. I will document all the steps here, just without mentioning the blog URL.

The other thing, Zach will be involved too so I will have some help. Just have to make sure he keeps the URL secret, or else…

How To Rule The World

I am really excited to see this project go live. It seems and sounds familiar with blogging experiment blog create a little under a year ago. But as for the topic of the site, maybe you should do another poll for the topic and let the readers choose the level of difficulty. It seems blogging about blogs and or making money online is the topic of about 80% of all blogs out there, so maybe a random subject would be more challenging. Just my two cents…

Finally! I was looking forward to this.
I like that you are keeping it a secret.
If you use only free tools for the design, what’s the 100$ for?
(is it a lame question?)
A poll would be cool, as the above comment suggests, but I find the challenge hard enough already.

Robojiannis - The $100 would be used for domain name, hosting, a small prize probably and other misc. expenses. I think readers have had enough of polls, time to get cracking, KWIM?

Sounds like a cool little adventure. Looking forward to observing it. Oh and you will only need to get 99 RSS subscribers now.
