Apart from the rising skyscrapers in the midst of sand dunes, a booming economy fueled by tourism and trade the U.A.E also offers visitors a view which you may not get to experience in many parts of the world. Reporting live from the scene, here is a view of the Internet from the U.A.E. (click for larger view)

There is a new company called Du, which is offering internet services proxy free. So far the U.A.E filters don’t apply to them, it seems, so you can possibly access the above blocked sites. Currently Etisalat has the monopoly on the market.
I guess I’ll have to wait till I get back to Europe to upload photos to Flickr. I’ll try and do some real sightseeing next week and post some better views for you all to see here.

Joe, I have no idea. It doesn’t bother me about that though, what bothers me worse is flickr not being accessible. Aargh!

It does suck a lot here, doesn’t it. Use a proxy and you’ll be fine
