Whether you are a company with several hundred employees working on projects, or an individual who tries to prioritize daily tasks, we all have one thing in common: How do we manage, organize and complete tasks on time without the hassle of using various different services? An India based company, MangoSpring has introduced one of the best services I have had the honor of trying, TaskBin, an easy to use, yet powerful task management system.
Although designed to allow easier allocation of tasks for large groups, such as businesses, TaskBin is simple enough for anyone to use. Each person, for those who use TaskBin as a group service, has his, or her own “Bin”, which is the place where tasks are assigned, either by the individual, or a member of the group. The tasks can be prioritized by terms such as Now, Today, Tomorrow, This Week and Sometime Soon. Simply enter the task to be completed, click the small flag icon to the left and choose the importance of the task.
Since each member’s TaskBin is shared, changing the assigned task to another member of the group is a snap. Choose the task, place a check-mark next to the member to add and it’s automatically set in the member’s bin.
One of the better features is the integration of Meebo, which enables all members of the group to chat from the TaskBin. If you don’t have a Meebo ID you can sign up for free, paste the code in the “Meebo” box under settings and those in the group have the ability to chat about sudden changes in tasks, or anything else related.
Other features include - an RSS feed for quick updates of progress, the ability to change the theme of your own TaskBin and a small notepad section that only you can see.
TaskBin could not have come along at a better time for me. I have several projects going on, not only blogging, but a work-at-home opportunity that came my way and this is so much easier to use than the “other” to-do list I had on my desktop. This is definitely one product I recommened. It’s free to join, free to use, (although I did notice a paid version check box, however I couldn’t find any information on the pricing), and you will have your company projects, or every day tasks organized in no time.

Sounds like a useful tool but I ain’t liking the design one single bit. Looks like it could do with a re-skin.

You have to remember it’s still in beta stage- on the home page they also give you an option to give them feedback- I said I’d like to see a calendar and an option of moving tasks up or down in the list. It’s beta so they’re still working on features and functionality. For myself, I’m loving it at the moment. It’s easy to use, fast and the visual aspect is the least of importance to me.
