Social networks are great, most everyone is a part of at least one or two networks. You are a socially active being on the internet if you so much as share your favorite snaps, update your status or post comments on other people’s profiles and so on. But a lot of social activities are limited to the confines of a desk or laptop computer. If Next2Friends is any indication, all of that is going to change.
Not much is given away on the home page of Next2Friends. But if you spend a few minutes browsing you can pretty much get an idea where they’re headed. From the homepage, I quote -
Next2Friends combines new and exciting services with an enriched online social experience that will rival all existing social spaces.

So what do you think they’re about? Well if you haven’t guessed it yet, it has a lot to do with taking social networks outside the box and into your hands…in a smaller handset type of box…
Scroll over the images on the home page to get a bigger clue of what they are about.
But enough about what their service is about, you’ll have to wait till Dec. 24th for a live beta. A good step to do now would be to pre-register for a beta invite so you can test it out of the door on launch. The fun part is, they’re giving away an iPod Touch each month and a Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop every quarter. The next drawing is for Nov. 15th for the iPod Touch and Dec. 15th for the Dell Laptop. I’ve got my entry in!
You can get more chances of winning by referring your friends as well, check the site for full details. I don’t think country of residence is a big deal for this service, as some new startups tend to launch for U.S only {boo!}. Let’s hope that I’m right about the country thing.
Sign up for the live beta launch and reserve your User ID before someone else gets it.
Digg this story. Apparently the trolls at digg decided to delete the story, oh well.

I don’t have any urge to take my social networking onto my mobile phone. I spend enough time on the computer I don’t want to be thinking about that stuff when I am away from the computer.

I’m sure every service has it’s negatives and positives. I wouldn’t completely write this off until I’ve seen it in action

It’s worth registering though, just for the chance at some free stuff!

This is great! Thanks for sharing it. I reserved my name, in the hopes that it’s great. But if not, well, I can always cancel.
