Faimous is a new site that is integrating the rising social aspect of the internet along with one of the webs most active areas - search. They just call it reaching your favorite aim, or faims for short. Hence the name Faimous.
Social Search
A lot has been developing recently concerning social search, more than I have been covering actually, with sites like Mahalo, Spock and even social network utility Facebook - one thing is for certain it’s hot. So how does Faimous make it any different?
The site lets you search aim for results, a few test searches revealed to me almost identical search results as found on Google. So I’m thinking they must be pulling their data from there. Alongside every search result you are given two options
- “Pick“, this allows you to save the result as a suggested link. If you register, these “Faims” will show up in your account as “My Faims”.
- “Block“, this will block the result from showing up in subsequent searches you make of the same result. You can always unblock them later on though.
One thing you will notice while searching is that you do not get pages upon pages of results. You get one page, a link that says “more results” which then drops down a few more results, and thats it. No page 2. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing?
You won’t believe this, JohnChow.com shows up on the results for make money online in Faimous.com!
Aiming instead of Searching
The site stresses that they provide results for queries that you “aim” for. Hence when you visit the home page you will see search queries that are aimed at getting something done, figuring out how to do it etc…
When you search for an aim and get a few results you can go further into that aim and do a separate “sub aim” search. Which could provide you even more detailed results.

Once registered on the site you can save your favorite links in your profile and see what others are adding to their faims as well.
Faimous aims to enhance productivity by helping people to reach their goals with appropriate web results, suggested sub-goals or methods, and collaborative tasks and discussions within the Faimous community.
They provide a bookmarks toolbar button which you can simply drag and drop, then save links as part of your “My Faims” and share it with the community. I don’t quite know myself if I would go to the extent of registering myself on a search site, even if it would provide me better results.
Everybody go to…Faimous.com

Interesting. I wonder about only getting one page of results, though.
