Kronos - Time And Attendance Software

Time is probably the only thing that is evenly spread across the world. Everyone has the same number of seconds, minutes and hours in a day. Even if you use a lunar calendar its still translated into the same amount of time - bottom line its the same for every man and woman. Managing the time you have is the main dilemma faced by me, you and even a company like Google!

Kronos Time Management Software

Kronos is a company that sells Time and Attendance software which helps any business increase their accuracy, control labor costs and increase productivity. What it does basically is that it provides you the setup necessary to manage employees and employment costs, while giving you a better hand on controlling your workforce.

Kronos lets you -

  • Improve accuracy - No more paper timesheets
  • Better control your labor costs - Manage overtime management and apply pay and work policies across your organization
  • Increase productivity - Spend time doing higher value activities in your work environment

I used to work as a payroll/office manager in Miami, FL and part of my activities was to make sure that if any employee forgot to clock in, or clock out, the time would be adjusted to reflect their actual time spent working. This was a restaurant, so the lax attitude was present everywhere. Can’t blame them, I didn’t clock in myself sometimes - after all I controlled it all ;-)

Kronos though is more geared towards bigger business/government type of setups.

Kronos Solutions
There are two main suite of products as part of their time and attendance software line up. Kronos Workforce Central suite and Kronos iSeries Central suite. They both include -

  • Workforce Timekeeper - This web based time tracking software lets you apply complex time and attendance pay policies with accuracy while reducing risk of error.   • Timekeeper Central - A client-server solution to help smaller organizations manage their data automatically. It lets you track employee hours and wages by center, department or job among other features.
  • webTA - A time and attendance solution that supports the Federal Government’s unique time and attendance requirements. Designed exclusively for the federal government it is an off the shelf product that manages time, attendance and labor via a web solution. Some key features include - view all employee data via a single source, manage projects and sub projects at agency, group or individual levels, manage leave requests online.

You can learn a lot more about the product by visiting their site. This might not be meant specifically for the average business, but then again no business owner should think his business is average. :)
