I’m not going to post another long list of 10 Steps To A Better Blog, 15 Things To Make Your blogging Better, 7 Surefire ways To Increase your RSS readers - none of that. Ever. Though, I’m not deriding the other bloggers that do write those posts. Kudos to them for giving so much to their community, and the blogging world in general.
But after reading list upon list of tips and tricks a sore thumb stuck out at me. They are all the same, they’re just using different synonyms. As soon as I read, or glance on, another “Top List” regarding bettering your blogging I ignore the headline and move on.
So I’m going to try and sum it all up it one tip for the sake of everyone and hopefully that should be the end of that. {wishful thinking here}
Become a Better Blogger: The Ultimate Blogging Tip
- Blog because you want to, not because you have to. You already have to eat, drink, sleep, bathe, work, worry, grow up/old, pray{personally speaking}, live and die. So make blogging something that you want to do, and don’t make it a cat and mouse game of RSS subscribers, stupid Alexa rankings {i’ll admit it’s fun for a while}, higher ad revenue etc…You came into blogging because you saw someone else doing it, or heard about it somewhere. Now, you want to experience {hopefully} the same form of community effect you felt while commenting on someone else’s blog - except the other way around. You want to experience what it feels like to post on a regular basis and connect with readers from all across the world. If you want that to happen it will. The rest is just noise.
Even if you are in it for the money, at least you’re doing it for a reason. Because you want the money. If you want something bad enough, you’ll get it. Tips and tricks are great. But long lists of repeated, rehashed, redrawn tips are like yesterday’s leftovers.
If you do have something original to add, keep it simple. People don’t want to be bored.

I’m in total agreement with you here and it kind of goes along with the last post I made in regards to SEO strategies. My point was that whatever you write, it should be something you want to write about and the readership and possibly money will follow.

I agree that you need to blog because you love it. I have always loved surfing the Internet. I am one of those people who love learning new things and the Internet is an endless resource.
I decided to get into blogging because I could surf the Internet and still do something productive. I blog about the newest online trends with a focus on blogging, social media and Internet marketing.
