What Does A Blogger Really Mean, When They Say…

  • Posted under: Blogging on September 6, 2007

Bloggers have a lot to say, apparently. But at some point of time your fingers hurt from all the typing and surfing, not to mention bloodshot eyes. So what do bloggers really mean when they say…

  • Sorry, I won’t be updating much this week.
What they really mean is – “I don’t know what else to blog about, this is hard work!”
  • I’m experimenting with various forms of advertising on my blog.
What they really mean is – “Can you click on them please, so I can make some money?”
  • I’m having a competition and giving away a PS3.
What they really mean is – “Link bait!”
  • I’m shutting down this blog as other priorities have come up, bye bye.
What they really mean is – “Blogging didn’t look as easy it seemed, I’m not cut out for it. Nobody clicked on my ads :(
  • I recommend this great new program I read about while over at {enter popular bloggers name}, he’s already had some success with it. Sign up here!
What they really mean is – “It’s a pyramid affiliate scheme, I got excited and signed up. Can you sign up under me please – together we can get rich! :)
  • Top 10 ways to make Coke and Mentos videos even funnier
What they really mean is – “Come on diggers! Digg me up!”

Go ahead and share some of your own reasons. I’m guilty of some of the phrases above as well.

It’s just like when I worked my full time job. The “I ate oysters last night and got an upset stomach, I can hardly walk” story always worked to get the day off, hehe.

  1. You mean people actually click on ads? I thought we just put them there to take up space. :)

  2. “Picture source: Other site” means I stole this picture

  3. Ha ha, that’s funny:)

don’t think too much, sometime it’s just mean nothing.

  4. we laugh because it is so true!

  5. Although I’ve not blogged in over a month, it certainly isn’t because of any of these reasons. Life does get in the way, good or bad and sometimes we do need a break. I mean, would people rather read me whining about how much my life sucks, or, fresh, helpful posts? :)
