Your Make Money Online Task For Today Is…
This post is part of “August - Make Money Online Month”.
…to try and generate at least $10 with any PPC or Affiliate service. Be it Yahoo Publisher Network, Google Adsense, Kontera, AdBrite, Clicksor, CJ, Linkshare, Azoogle or whatever you use to monetize your site/blog. {notice the lack of affiliate links}.
Why $10?
For some people that figure is achieved every hour on the hour or even quicker. But for most who are just trying to garner in that minimum payout every month this could be a real challenge for them. I’ve been there myself, thinking OMG! can I actually hit $5 a day in PPC and/or affiliate sales! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve missed the target in the past. I kept thinking to myself in the back of my head, “Nah! I’m never going to hit that, it can’t happen to me.” After being like that for I don’t know how long, I smacked myself on the back of my head. Whaddya mean you can’t make $5 a day on your blog! Of course you can!
That’s when I started to think outside the box and did various sorts of stuff like post optimization, SEO, doing cooler posts and a whole bunch of other stuff on the affiliate side. Hey! guess what I’m meeting my targets now and exceeding them everyday. {my targets are higher than $5 of course
}
Make those $10 a day!
So I want you to believe that you can do the same, you can somehow break out of your shell and make more than you think you can or presently are. In fact aim to hit a $100 and not just $10 a day. I’m writing this at 11:00 pm on Thursday, I hope by this time tomorrow a lot of you will have posted comments as to how you managed to make those $10.
- Guess what, the most creative answer wins $10 from me. {I’ll take your word for it, so don’t lie - that’s just wrong}
How did you get new traffic? How did you optimize your blog? What changes did you make to your posts? What methods you used to increase what you were making before to go above $10?
Remember I said PPC and affiliate money, paid reviews don’t count. If $10 is chump change for you then please stay out of the task, but your suggestions are welcome in the comments.

This sounds like the 30 Day Challenge with the $10, but not the same angle. I will take your challenge, but not until I complete the 30 day challenge. This will have to wait until September.

I’m still struggling with getting consistent PPC click throughs on such things as Adsense. I don’t know if it’s the focus of my blog or the content of my posts. For the most part I don’t plan my posts, I’m what Darren Rowse calls a impulse blogger. That may change in the future, but for now that’s just how it is. I blog part time after my 9-5 grinder or sometimes before…sometimes during but only when it’s slow
I’d love to hear suggestions or get feedback on what I may be doing wrong, or what I’m doing right for that matter. I have moved my alexa rank from obscurity into the high 2 million range
My CPC earnings are pathetic at best.
I’ve actually given up on setting any kind of monetary goals and am setting some content goals instead. I’m hoping this will get me motivated to creating better/more frequent content and the byproduct will be better earnings. We’ll see. It’s a bit hard for me now as I’ve gone from working at home to a 5×8 office/commuter job.
