Well another month has come and gone. July was a good month for my blog as it grew quite a bit. My RSS feed subscribers grew by almost 100 active readers from the beginning of July. Page views virtually doubled from the previous month as did traffic. Watching a 45% increase in traffic is something that can get even the most high profile blogger excited.

Now I’m never one to boast about stuff as I stopped posting “numbers” and “figures” a long time ago but this is just goes to show that persistence is the number one trait a blogger needs to have. Especially if you plan on generating any income from your blog. I’ve talked a lot in the past about generating online income, sign up for my full feed if you haven’t yet.

I would also like to share a little bit with you why my traffic level has increased by almost 50%. Well for starters, this is a great blog . But also I’ve created a lot of sticky content, I haven’t relied on traffic from social bookmarking sites, I’ve spent my time blogging wisely and generated some search engine friendly posts that just draw in the masses. You can see from my featured posts on top some of the most visited pages on this blog.

Even though a lot of the new visitors to the site came here looking for specific information the average visitor spent around two minutes browsing over, reading and viewing other posts on the blog. Two minutes in internet time is a LOT!

Optimizing your content for visitors with good readability and navigation is paramount. I’ve learned quite a bit in web design over the past 3 - 6 months and I plan on implementing a lot of new features, plus I am working on a new design for the blog itself {I’m so excited about that}. So look forward to a lot of good changes here in the near future.
