Online Affiliate Tools & Widgets - Monetize Your Websites and Blogs

Whether you like to work or you don’t, you gotta eat! So if making a living online is what you do, or are looking into, here are some online affiliate tools that can bring home that whole wheat bread a whole lot easier.

PopShops - Free Affiliate Power Tool

This service lets you virtually build your own affiliate store/widget and customize it to your hearts content with sites that you already have an affiliate account with. So if you have an affiliate account with Commission Junction or Linkshare then all you need to do is

grab your affiliate ID
create an account with PopShops
pick your products via the PopShops system
customize your shop and
pop the code in your website/blog
make money

Well, OK for the making money part you’ll need some marketing skills and visitors to your site. But for those already in the field this simplifies things. You can virtually build tens of niche little sites with just the products you want and you do not need any programming skills whatsoever.

They even have widgets for Blogger and TypePad, a WordPress plugin is in the works. You keep 100% of your commissions, they offer a Basic free service and charge a nominal monthly fee for a Pro and Enterprise account. Visit PopShops.

Wize - Targeted Product Feed {TypePad only }

No idea why they only support TypePad. Mostly though Wize is a consumer product review site that takes into account reviews left by actual users of a product to give each product a Wize Rank. Covering a broad enough range of products the Wize Rank shows you the score that each product has based on consumer opinion, reviews and ratings taken from independent sources so that a prospective customer can make an informed decision.

If you want to install their widget on your TypePad blog then you will have to get an affiliate account with Linkshare and enter your ID to place into your blog.

Probably not the best choice for making money online, let’s hope they add more blogging platforms in the future - as I kind of like the generated widget they show as an example. Vist Wize.

Friend2Friend - Make Your 2 Cents Count

Do you have really long friends list on your IM account, your MySpace page, Hi5 account and others. Does every blog post you make instigate tens to hundreds of passionate comments from your readers? Then have a look at Friend2Friend which is a product recommendation site that lets you place a widget on your blog, website or social network profile account like MySpace.

If you’re popular enough you can make enough money to support a weekly dinner out, or two. Imagine that!

It’s a Pay-for-Performance channel for online Sellers based on personal recommendations. Friend2friend Agents (recommenders) receive a commission which they can flexibly manage.

The commissions can either go to yourself, to the buyer via cash-back, or as a donation. So this really isn’t for the super affiliate or for someone who would rather use PopShops or the next choice, Mpire.

Mpire - Affiliate Widget

First off, I really like the widget because it’s so dynamic. It supports TypePad, WordPress, Blogger and MoveableType. Plus you can embed it on any website as well. What I don’t like is that they only have Amazon and eBay as their affiliates, which have some of the lowest affiliate payouts around. You would literally have to sell tens times as much through them to make a dent in your income than if you used PopShops or just went solo. Even AuctionAds, would make you more money because they are on a higher tier payout.

Anyway, the widget would show products relevant to your content. So if you have a fashion or tech related site, then appropriate products would show up. The price check looks really nifty and will probably convince people to click on something, anything to see what’s up.

So the clicking part is easy, but once they get taken to eBay or Amazon then they need to buy something. Which is the hard part. Though if the success of AuctionAds is any indication then you can probably better monetize eBay clicks rather than Amazon ones. Visit Mpire.
