TheNewsRoom is a online news site that provides content from 170 credible, licensed content sources such as Reuters, Associated Press, Agence France-Press and more. Owned by the Viral Syndication Network they aim to help news organizations and advertisers, as mentioned above, get their content shown across millions of blogs and websites.
Any online publisher can mash up the stories, which come in the form of video or text, and embed them on their site and make money from the views that the story generates. Paid on a CPM model, videos make you $4.00 per 1000 impressions and a text story earns you $1.00. Not the highest payouts but if someone else ends up mashing your content on their site then you get paid for those views as well, though at a lower payout.
To be eligible to be paid you need to register and simply copy paste code and earn cash on the views that your mash generates. You can also mash without registration but you won't get paid for any views. Here is an example of a video story {rss readers please click through site if video doesn't load} -
Compatible with most blog platforms the concept is easy, secure, legal and most of all free for anybody looking to create some extra money with their blogs. If you end up making 1000 impressions or more on a daily basis it could be a nice side earner. You might even end up earning more than any CPC ads you publish. The min. payout is $50.
With many online video sites getting into revenue sharing with its users, The News Room is also getting into this arena and aims to put relevant, timely news on your site {though the content here is not user generated}. Their present inventory is pretty vast, and with the type of news providers they have partnered with there are always many video and content choices at any given point of time. So having fresh content on your blog or website should not be a problem.
Oh! and a word of caution, they do not pay via paypal yet. That option is being planned for the future, even though their homepage may state otherwise. You can read the FAQ here about paypal.

I’ve just been hearing bits and pieces about this, and wasn’t even sure where the website was, and I was getting very curious! LOL! So thank you for this great post explaining it all so well!
I saw this service and created a video newsfeed over at DV Gadgets to show technology/gadget related news stories. I found creating a feed a little difficult — in my case finding a mix of relevant terms to actually bring up relevant results was a bit of a chore. I finally had to set the relevance filter to the lowest level before showing any results.
Including the video on an individual post level is quite intriguing. I looked at including some of the news stories for a couple posts, but found the layout options to be quite limiting in terms of how the player integrated into your site. Other than that, the process was very easy.
We’ll give it a couple of months to see how it all works out. Yes, the payouts are low on a pure advertising basis… $4/CPM for a video ad that should be very targeted over time (based on feed keywords or in-post inclusions)?
But in many ways, I look at this as getting free content for my site plus the bonus of getting a share of advertising. Sounds like a win-win.
