Anne Wojcicki is the wife of Google {GOOG} co-founder Sergey Brin and she is the latest investment as well for Google’s ever growing portfolio. The company is called 23andme.

The company is investing $3.9 million for a minority stake in the biotech startup that deals with genetics.

23andMe is a privately held company developing new ways to help you make sense of your own genetic information. By connecting you to others, we can also help put your genome into the larger context of human commonality and diversity.

They are focused on empowering individuals to access, explore, share and better understand their genentic information, making use of recent advances in DNA analysis technologies and proprietary web-based software tools. So basically it is sort of a Geni, which raised $10 million in March, though their is no word yet if they are going to be anything like Geni itself.

From the jobs section on the site you can make out that they are looking for software engineers, UI designers, a science writer and more. So it is yet unclear if the startup will be something entirely web based or not? The startup aims to launch by the end of the year.

Susan Wojcicki’s garage was leased to Google when they started out first, she then went on to work as VP of Development for Google. The company now owns the house.
