Campaign Marketplaces - Why some Work and some Don’t

ReviewMe recently launched their advertiser marketplace, read the review. Two weeks later it’s as dry as a well in a desert. I can literally count the number of campaigns that have been posted on my two hands.

I don’t know if it’s the lack of ability to restrict the type of blogger that can take an opp, or if my category of my blog itself doesn’t get any campaign offers {I have two blogs in their in two diff. categories} but their is definitely not much happening in there, for my categories at least. I may be wrong about other categories.

It’s a no brainer that if an advertiser puts a campaign up for $10 {of which the blogger gets $5}, they won’t get any of the blogs that have a higher price for a review, as determined by RM, to take their opp.

I did take one opp for soloseo for this blog. I’ve taken opps for my other blog as well mostly because the offers were on topic and I liked blogging about them. But I don’t expect to take any more low paying ones, as frankly it’s not worth it.

The higher priced blogs though seem to be still getting their offers in, buy a review on this blog. Wonder how they plan on getting more advertisers in their to create campaigns?

Sponsored Reviews is doing pretty good with it’s marketplace {at least for me}, as the advertiser has the ability to reject a blog or directly buy a sponsored listing from it. PayPerPost is also said to be doing something similar where a blogger can bid on an opp and an advertiser can buy directly from them, nobody knows the full details yet.

The sponsored content area though is getting more livelier as companies are doing a lot of new and innovative things to get more mainstream advertisers over onto the blogosphere.

Have you been able to take any campaigns on ReviewMe? If so, please share with us.
