Blogitive Trying to Rival Text-Link-Ads?

Blogitive, a marketplace for sponsored posts, has announced the the Blogitive Directory Network {BDN}. What this is basically is a plugin for self hosted blogs that run on WordPress to be able to add a directory on their blog and charge per submission. The bloggers have full control over the type of links they allow in their directory, and you can add your own links in their for free. The min. price you have to charge for outside links is $5.00 of which 85% is yours to keep.

The installation seems to be pretty painless, watch a brief overview here, and you can then start making money for links in your directory from visitors that come to your site, the secondary submissions from people browsing the BDN and Direct Blogitive Offers {DBO’S}.

This type of plugin might appeal to bloggers just getting started or looking to make a few extra dollars, though I won’t be installing it myself.

This might end up rivaling TLA only where small/unranked blogs can’t get in because of low traffic or PR etc…to sell links on their blogs and also because they offer a bigger slice of the revenue share. More established sites, or ones that have had success with TLA, won’t be migrating anytime soon I think.

Oh yeah! I almost forgot the most important thing. The amount you set per listing/link is the YEARLY amount, NOT monthly.

Have you installed it, or plan on? Let us know if you made any sales?

  2. I don’t see that as a rival to TLA. The only rival I know of to TLA is Linkworth. They have text links, blog reviews, intxt links and all the other stuff. I sell a lot on my own to my readers directly, but have sold some on linkworth. I’ve been very happy with what the provide. the sites http://www.linkworth.com if you want to find more.

I think if anyone wanted to rival that market it would be the search engines themselves. Imagine if they started selling static text links through their network. The Linkworth and TLA’s of the world would have a hard time keeping up.
