The Top 5 Blogs at the End of 2007 will be…

Update: Poll Daddy experienced some delays so I took down their polling widget. I substituted them with Zoho Polls. All previous votes on Poll Daddy will be counted and accounted for. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Update: Voting will close on the 13th of May at Midnight, Eastern Europe Time.

Final Update: The Top Blogs will win PRIZES!!

Since we are almost mid way through 2007 now is a good indicator of what to expect to see at the end of the year in terms of blog popularity.

2005 - 06 was more or less the beginning of what the blogosphere has experienced in terms of many bloggers going pro and solely making a living online. But this is just the beginning and many good bloggers have come up in the past 6 - 12 months and are now slowly making their presence felt. Will they be the new cream of the crop at the end of 2007?

I’ve picked out 5 main categories that represent the hottest topics discussed in blogging today and made a list of the 5 most upcoming blogs in each category. There is also a poll and I encourage you to vote for who you think will be at the top of their game by the end of the year.

The 5 main categories I chose are Internet and Technology, Making Money Online and Blogging, Web Design and Development, Entertainment and Lifestyle, Work and Career. More...

  1. Frantic Industries
  2. Tech Buzz
  3. iWebis
  4. Rex Dixon
  5. Geeks are Sexy

Making Money Online and Blogging

  2. LifeSpy
  3. BLaugh
  4. The CineMattic

RSS readers might not see the voting widget, so please click through to the site to vote.

So who do you think will be the top blog in each of the above categories? Once votes add up everyone can see who The Top 5 Blogs of 2007 will be based on readers votes. I looked through hundreds of blogs and decided on the list above based on factors such as quality and quantity of posts, design of the blog, readability and some other things. I hope you liked my selection. It was fun browsing and discovering new blogs, I look forward to taking in a lot of reading in the future from the above selection.

This is an entry for Pro Blogger’s Group Blogger Project, so feel free to comment on my post as well as visit the other posts which will be submitted by other bloggers on his blog. Once darren puts up some entries I’ll link to them from here as well.

If you liked this post then consider linking back to me from your own blog and don’t forget to vote for who you think will the The Top 5 Blogs at the end of 2007. Of course if you feel I can contest in any of the above categories then just leave me a comment ;-)

Update: Voting will close on the 13th of May at Midnight, Eastern Europe Time.

But I’ve read you in the past and will continue to do so in the future. :-)

  70. Maybe I’ll include that category at the end of the year for the year end poll. Stay tuned for that one.

  71. Great Poll, can’t wait to see the results. WP Designer should win the Web Design and Development category. I just integrated one of WP Designer’s templates into my blog and it rocks. It was super easy to customize because of the clean and logical code. Thanks WP Designer!

  72. There were a few worthy blogs on the list, but I couldn’t understand why some others were there. I saw 2 that had a handful of posts over the past month and some that were so busy I couldn’t even find the posts themselves. Sites like these don’t have a chance to be top blogs.

Otherwise, good job with the list. Looks to be fairly popular!

  73. WP Designer is lagging a little bit, I hope more people vote for this guy (small potatoes) an excellent WP designer and an excellent guy too.

  74. Tu e um cara muito legal queria ver fazer o filme mas dde perto!

  75. http://www.msbands.com - My personal site.

On the making money, I think that it is a great poll so far. By far Dosh Dosh is the best.

  76. I like WP Designer, It is a very beautiful website .

  77. Wow, this is a really good post. I clicked on a couple of links and I see why you picked them! They’re really cool and beautiful!
