Did My Article Cause Pizza Hut.com To Change?

Posted by Hyder on May 1st, 2007

I wrote this article on web design some time back and it got to the front page of digg. The ensuing traffic that I got was obviously re-directed as well to the various websites that I linked to. One of them being Pizza Hut.com for their browser recommendations. Something I so vehemently disliked about how the web was before cross browser compatibility became a must for any self respecting web designer.

Guess what, that page is NOT FOUND any more! I only saw it because I was reading the comments on one of the blogs that linked {translated} to that article. Here is the Google cache link. Link to a screenshot for when the cached version goes away.

And it’s not just that page that has been removed, but the entire site seems to have been redesigned. Most of the links from the cached version don’t seem to work.

Now what I really want to know is did PizzaHut.com change their site because of what they read here? or Was their redesign coming anyway nonetheless?

Maybe their head designer noticed the thousands of clicks to one specific page and decided to do something about it. I don’t know, but it does seem suspicious.

I wonder if Eric Jordan is going to do a non-flash version 6 of their website next?

Digg it.

I am a cieliac(alurgic to wheat, rye, barley, oats) I called a pizza hut in Grants, Nm. the other day to ask them if they would put a topping on a rice crust that I would provide. THe answer was “NO” I have went to some of the leading resuarants that now provide a special menu just for ceiliac’s. Our numbers are growing all the time, if want our business, I think you need to do some investigating.
