The Blogging Playground

Posted by Hyder on April 22nd, 2007

Life is a playground where you go from one corner of it to the other experiencing merry go rounds, feeling the air go through your hair on the swings, take a tumble once in a while, get all messy from playing in the dirt, get all the kids together and form a choo-choo train and a whole bunch of other stuff.

blogging is a playground as well with very similar traits where you visit one blog after the other, comment away on posts that you like, make a post that inadvertently offends somebody once in a while, disagree with someone else’s post, get tagged by someone else and more such stuff.

So how do we make the most of the time that we get in the blogging playground?

The basic ideal any blogger should posses is to always be a Team Player. Somehow we are in this together, what one blogger might say can resonate across the blogosphere and make everybody stand up and take notice. Even when something happens of a serious nature, case in point the Kathy Sierra incident, the blogosphere came together there…well mostly. It has gone so far as trying to indoctrinate a bloggers code of ethics.

Blogging has mostly gone mainstream in the past 2 - 3 years or so. The web has been around for much longer than that. So you could say that we are not even near the beginning of the formation of a fulcrum for blogging as we know it.

The web is expanding at an ever increasing rate, but not far enough. The technology that is being developed today will go a long way in cementing the nature of how the world as a whole functions and communicates tomorrow.

The playground is expanding. There are more people coming in each and every single day, some are there just to create mischief, but don’t worry they will be left in the corner until they behave. The best part is that there is room for everyone and anybody can create their own little group and join other groups.

You will have leaders in every group, the favorites in any group though might not necessarily be the leaders. Some groups will use wit and a keen eye to get ahead, some will use perseverance and bravado.

But most importantly a blogging playground should remain the one thing it should always be and that is to be a FUN PLACE…and make some friends while you’re there. The more merrier the playground gets the more fun it is to visit it everyday.
