MySpace News is to mildly put it…

...a piece of junk.

I'm sorry I just couldn't help it. I'm brutally honest when it comes to stuff like this. I also agree with Stan from franticindustries when he says it poses absolutely no threat to digg. I actually thought it would be more like a Google news service.

But now that I see what they made of it, ugh. Maybe they shouldn't have done it all.

The only thing this site will be good for is....well Free Smileys comes to mind.

Voting on stories doesn't require registration and on clicking the story's link it will open up the actual website page in a frame with a really annoying MySpace bar at the top. Can you imagine if digg did this! I would never visit it again.

The only saving grace is that there are three related articles in the frame above and clicking on the links will open up the story for your to read and rate it in the bottom frame.

You can also suggest your own blog or an RSS feed. Well I submitted mine so lets see if it brings in any traffic.

In summary I quote Stan again -

The overall design, the lack of options and features, it all makes the site look as interesting as a bucket of dirt.

you might as well try to submit your blog to it. free traffic is traffic. but most likely it seems to be focused on the “big” blogs/news sites..we’ll see if the smaller fries like us get on there.
