5 Ways to Stay Ahead of your Blog Competition
All online business activities like website services and blogs should have a business strategy to get over and above your competition. It frankly can get quiet frustrating for some people to do so as they don’t have the required experience to get ahead. No problem, I will show you 5 Ways on How You can Stay Ahead of your Blog Competition.
Game Plan - First of figure out who your competition is. Pick out at least 50 - 100 keywords that you would want your blog to be highly ranked for. Think of phrases, talk to your friends, family and co-workers ask them what they would search for. Once you have all that information alphabetize it and sort by length of keyword.
Content Development - Now we need to write content around those keywords. If you are talking about computers and hardware then from the survey you did above you would now know which keywords & phrases to include in your blog post.
Make sure you put that phrase in your post title, somewhere in the first paragraph of the post and down near the end again. In all the keyword/phrase should not take up more than 10 - 15% of the content. So say you write a 300 word post, the keyword shouldn’t take up more than 30 - 45 total words.
Keeping it to the point - Don’t bore anybody with jargon. For regular postings keep it simple and to the point. Writing longer posts is not bad, in fact I encourage you to, but in today’s internet where the attention span is growing lesser by the second you want to make sure they get the point.
Here’s why, once they know that you gave them the point they’ll be back for more. That’s when they will bother themselves to read your longer posts. Trust me.
Friends close, enemies closer - That might be a bit harsh, but you get the picture right. Keep monitoring your competition and see what they are doing. Try to think ahead of them.
Leave comments on their blog, post to their forums - even so much as BUY something from them { in a bloggers case maybe an Ad Spot }. This will give you an insight into how they handle their business - do a complaint and see if customer love holds up. Sneaky I know, but don’t assume it doesn’t happen already.
Wake up early - Yep, the internet is a real world. When news happens you want to know right away what’s up. Get your chores out of the way and get on it. Plus people like to read more earlier in the day so if you have fresh content when they get to you it’s all the better.
CEO’s of big companies are always up and at ‘em bright and early. For bloggers it’s the same thing.
You are probably asking at this point of time how come I am not at the top of my game against my blog competition, well my dear I’ve only just begun, that and I “forgot” to mention the 6th Way. So I hope you enjoyed this post and if so…

Some great advise, thanks.
I like the ideas you presented, but the title of the post is very off-putting. blogging should not be about beating the crap out of your competition. It is a community where like-minded individuals and similar-interest blog cans benefit off each other. Reverting to beating the crap out of competition is the old-world mentality of doing business. The great thing about blogging is that we can work together and mutually benefit.
@nate
You know what you are absolutely right. I re read what I wrote and decided to change it for the better.
Sometimes while blogging people get caught up in the moment and somethings may come out sounding different later on than when it was written.
I do believe in working together and the internet is a great place to make friends.
Glad you liked my content nevertheless.
