Statsaholic - David vs Goliath

Posted by Hyder on March 26th, 2007

You all know what happened between David and Goliath. I sincerely hope that it happens again here. Statsaholic is the rebranded version of Alexaholic, because Amazon and Alexa decided one fine day to take legal action towards the site because of the use of their name in the domain.

Alexaholic has been up for sometime now and it’s really stupid of Amazon/Alexa to take this step now, especially after it was a given that the site was a success and visited by tens of thousands of people - including me.

The most crazy part as the site points out is that now they are trying to block the graphs from appearing on the site. When anybody is free to access those images anyhow why try to block them?

Compete
and Quantcast have offered to show their graphs on the site and I think the site should integrate them or just completely move over to them. Since Statsaholic is used by a lot of tech people I can only assume that going forward the reliance of only on Alexa as a traffic measure will decrease and rid us all of that evil.
