The BBC reports that the Playstation 3 was finally launched in Europe, and in London whoever bought a PS3 also received a free 46-inch HD television and a taxi home. Talk about perks!
The first one inline there was 17 year old Ritatsu Thomas who waited 36 hours.
PS3 sales have been behind the Wii by almost two to one, much in part to the fact that Nintendo is probably producing them faster. Nevertheless for the UK launch they had 200,000 consoles. Since the launch of the PS3 in the U.S there have been more games and Blu-ray DVD’s released along with the online network getting an update.
Oh and the reason behind the free taxis was because of the midnight launch and the fear of shoppers getting mugged. That would have just been bad PR if something like that happened huh!
