News – Box.net, Megabuzz and Ziki

Box.net has added more features a new design to their site box.net, read our review of the box widget. So what’s new?

Well first of all the design of the site is now more user friendly and dare I say it more Web 2.0. More files can be viewed at once, sharing files is easier now and most of the present features have been more streamlined. So give it a run.

Megabuzz is a site where you can create your own buzz or go along with someone else’s hype. You can add your own content on the site and pick a side that you want to be on. You can earn points by choosing sides and if you get enough you can trade them in for a cash prize. Sounds kinda neat. You can even embed the buzz on your site. I like the fact that I can delete my account if I want to.

No doubt money and prizes is one thing that will keep people coming back for more.

Ziki let’s you make your own portal for personal or professional reasons. You can promote yourself, your skills, services and anything else you can think of. I chanced upon this site via a Google Ad – I see more web 2.0 startups advertising on Adwords nowadays. The good thing about ziki is that it indexes you and your services on search engines, that could also be a bad thing so only tell what you really want to be found.

That flash embed is giving me an error when viewing your blog in Firefox. The error says it is attempting an illegal operation, I would suggest removing it in case others are experiencing this.

  3. I use firefox and don’t seem to get any errors, that’s curious though.
