It doesn’t get any stupider than this. First of all whoever sent this C&D is an idiot, in this case it is James Phelps.
Posted here are some of the features SuperGu is trying to get a C&D for -
- Pagination (the next and previous page buttons) - SG claimed that
Pligg’s pagination is too similar to theirs. - “Powered by Pligg” - SG
claimed that the verbiage is too similar to their “Powered by SuperGu”
so we have to remove it. - RSS feed icon - Yes, SG claimed they owned
the copyright to the orange RSS feed icon. WTF!
Plus the pligg guys happened to copy paste a text document that was on supergu’s server where James apparently asks a coder to blatantly copy yget the new template that pligg has published with their 9.1 beta release.
The implications of this move towards SuperGu are just downright catastrophic. I mean really, saying that you own the copyright to the RSS Feed Icon is just way too much for me too even handle. The icon was created by the guys behind Mozilla, FYI.
It is also on digg here and here.

It’s funny. I once reviewed SuprGlu and was very impressed. Since then, they’ve become slow and I no longer use it.
