Goals for March

  • Posted under: Internet on March 2, 2007

To reference one last time to February, I will talk about goals.

Last month I had set myself some goals for myself and this blog in general. I wanted to increase this blog’s readership which has gone up from 30 to an average of 90 – 110 for the past week. I know Alexa is a semi-worthless indication of traffic but my rank there has steadily increased and my PR is supposed to be a 6 when the next PR update takes place in March/April { it is 4 presently }.

March Goals -

  • Increase RSS subscribers by at least 100 – 200 more at the very minimum.
  • Break into the Top 100,000 in Alexa’s ranking system. { preferably top 70,000 }
  • Write a minimum of 3 – 4 posts a day.
  • Provide a valuable resource to my readers.

Why setting goals for yourself is important -

When you do set a goal for yourself it becomes a sticky in your mind. Something that will push you to get to that point and keep nagging till you do it. This blog has grown from nothing in 3 months to being quickly indexed by Google in a day most of my traffic now comes from search engines. I attribute that to the content I write. Balancing content created for humans and the search engines is a delicate process.

Rather than just yeah I’m thinking of doing it, or I’ll get to it someday write it down and make it a point to reference yourself everyday and see how much you have accomplished so far.

Do you have any goals for yourself? It doesn’t need to be connected to the web. I have many life goals as well some which I will share some I may not, let us know yours by commenting.

  1. Yeah setting goals really motivate what one does…My blog readership hit 32 in just one week from its starting…I am aiming at 100 before this month end…

  2. The key is not to get discouraged if you don’t hit your targets. Even if you’ve only moved a little bit closer to your goals at least it’s progress.
