Netvibes New Design Coriander – Spicy!

Ok I just wrote about the new Netvibes being launched. Here are the details that I see right now.

Feeds

When you click on a feed within any of the modules and if you have the side panel open, which I do, the whole window expands of the open feed reader to the width of the browser and the side panel disappears. Clicking anywhere on your page will bring back the side panel back again. This is nice as you can now read more content and it makes the reading experience better.

By enabling feed pagination in your settings you can now show only a few posts per feed and navigate them. This way you don't need to have super long feed modules and have more feeds per tab.

Theme

The Coriander theme is pretty nice and gives a more web (2) feel. The resizing of the modules is fluid, though it is only configurable from the top module level. All changes are then replicated for all modules in that column. Click for full view.

So there you have it a feel for what's in the new version of Netvibes. Granted they could have added a few more little trinkets here and there but I guess they don't want to be blasted to death like ning.com got yesterday. Ning is still slow for me here in Eastern Europe.
